TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Research is important to me, but teaching is the part of the historical profession that I enjoy the most.  Since February 2003 I have taught in the Upper School at Norfolk Academy.  From 1998 through 2001 I served intermittently as a part-time college instructor while I continued my graduate work.  I taught over 300 undergraduates in a total of 10 courses during those years, at institutions ranging from small, two-year colleges to a large research university.  My teaching experience is detailed below:
